OBITUARY: Tibetan Freedom Fighter Bhusang la

 
Bhusang la (1930 - 2010)

Dharamshala: Bhusang la, who spent 18 years in Chinese prison for defending his country from aggression and invasion by the forces of the People's Republic of China in early 1960's, passed away after prolonged illness in Dharamsala on 25 March 2010. He was 80.

In its condolence message, the Department of Security of the Central Tibetan Administration said, “Since his childhood Bhusang la has never wavered for a single day from his determination and commitment to work for the cause of Tibet and the people of Tibet. We deeply commend his service and pray for a good rebirth.”

He was born to Lhawang Norbu and Tsering Yudon in Nyemo district in Tibet's central province of U-Tsang in 1930. In 1942, at the age of twelve, he joined the Tibetan army and at the same time studied Tibetan medicine at the Men-Tsee Khang for seven years. From 1949 he served as physician for the police department.

Central Tibetan Administration Mourns the Demise of Taktser Rinpoche

 - The Central Tibetan Administration mourns the demise of Taktser Rinpoche Thupten Jigme Norbu, former representative of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in Japan and former abbot of Kumbum monastery in Amdo.

Taktser Rinpoche, who is the eldest brother of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, breathed his last at his home in Indiana in the United States, on Friday evening, 5 September, owing to prolonged illness. He was 86 years old.

As a mark of respect and gratitude for dedicating his entire life to the revival of Tibet's heritage and hope for the Tibetan people, the departments and offices of the Administration would remain closed this afternoon, following an hour-long prayer session at 2 p.m.

HIs Holiness the 11th Mindrolling Trichen has passed away

Tibet Custom are sad to announce the passing away of His Holiness the 11th  Mindrolling Trichen on the Evening of Saturday 9th Feburary, which is the 3rd day of the Tibetan year.
Therefore Tibet Custom hope that you all can do some Memorial Service for this occasion.

Born on on the eighteenth day of the first lunar month of the iron sheep year.
Renowned by Tibetan's as the embodiment of Padmasambhava, His Holiness the 11th Mindrolling Trichen worked tirelessly for the Establishment of the Dharma in India.

The 11th Mindrolling throne holder, Trichen Jurme Kunzang Wangyal was born to the 10th Mindrolling Trichen Jurme Dondrub Wangyal and Yum Dawa Drolma (his mother), on the eighteenth day of the first lunar month of the iron sheep year.
His Holiness received extensive teachings and empowerments from many exceptional Tibetan masters. Dzongsar Khyentse Chökyi Lodro, Sechen Kongtrul the great, Minling Chung Rinpoche, Minling Khen Rinpoche, Sechen Rabjam Rinpoche, Dordzin Namdrol Gyatso, Dordzin Dechen Choedzin and Gelong Kunzangla are some of the renowned masters with whom he studied.
His Holiness’ root guru was Dzongsar Khyentse Chökyi Lodrö from whom he received the precious instructions on the Guhyagarbhatantra and its various commentaries. Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche proclaimed His Holiness as having greatly excelled in the understanding and practice of these precious teachings and instructed him to teach it eleven times to fortunate and worthy students in future.
After studying many years with great Tibetan Buddhist masters, Rinpoche spent more than 14 years in retreats, accomplishing many practices. Among wondrous signs he composed many teachings and discovered the terma of Jigten Wangchuk Pema Garwang, the Great Compassionate One.
