Chinese authorities in Matoe County, Golog „Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture‰ have arrested ten Tibetan monks and a civilian for „producing and distributing subversive songs‰ on video disc, according to the Tibetan Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (TCHRD), an NGO based here. Six were released later on bail.

The Chinese Consulate in Zurich, Switzerland, on Saturday 2 February 2008 Zollikon intends to hold a reception on the occasion of the Tibetan New Year.
Obviously, this New Year reception is for those Tibetans who primarily live in Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
The local Tibetan Parliament and the Assembly of the regional representations of the Tibetans in Switzerland and Liechtenstein (Thuemi) consider this initiative by the Chinese government agency in Switzerland as a renewed attempt to divide, disassemble and undermine the Tibetan community. This is a very serious matter.
